Opened in November 2020, Café incredABLE is much more than a food service—it embodies a mission to positively impact those with learning disabilities and autism. Managed by Samantha McCartney, the café has gained an admirable five-star Food Hygiene rating and boasts a full all-day menu that caters to a diverse clientele. Dining here means contributing to a worthy cause, as every meal purchased helps fund programs that empower local individuals.
The Foundation of a Community Initiative
The inception of this café was rooted in a community-driven vision. In 1997, parents and professionals acknowledged the necessity for social opportunities for young adults with learning difficulties. From modest beginnings, the Young Fit and Able (YFA) Group evolved into incredABLE, expanding its reach and impact. The café initiative began in 2018 and continues to flourish, now employing over 50 staff members, a third of whom identify as having learning difficulties, reinforcing the commitment to inclusivity.
