A new bursary worth £15,000 aims to help local schools bring students to one of Northern Ireland's most popular educational attractions — with applications open now.
Schools and educational groups across the ABC Borough could soon be swapping the classroom for Westeros, thanks to a new transport bursary launched by the Game of Thrones Studio Tour.
The Education Transport Bursary has been set up to help eligible schools and youth groups cover the cost of coach travel to the attraction, removing one of the biggest barriers to organising a school trip. The fund covers transport costs only — schools will still need to book General Admission or a Workshop Ticket for the visit itself, but the bursary is designed to take the sting out of getting there.
What's on offer
With £15,000 available in total, the bursary is aimed squarely at supporting educational visits rather than leisure trips, making it a useful option for schools looking to build a curriculum-linked outing around film, television production, craft skills, or Northern Ireland's creative industries.
How to apply
Applications opened on 17th August 2026 and will close on 30th September 2026, so schools interested in applying are encouraged not to leave it too late. Full details and the application form are available directly through the Studio Tour's website.
